Whisky salt!? We won't be reducing the amount of that in the recipes!

Provenance is another growing trend on our shelves. More and more people want to know where their food is coming from, are interested in the heritage and also how the product is sourced. We covered traceability in an earlier post which can be found here. Along with the provenance trend, we're also seeing "boozy" flavours making a come back; whisky being one but also the trendy bar drink gin, both sloe and conventional, is making it's way into our food...it's a good time for gin and whisky lovers!

Foodmaker trend spotters have been out and have picked up some new ingredients which are packed with provenance. These ingredients, Smokey Scotch Whisky Salt and Flowers of Scotland purchased from Edinburgh Castle, are now in our Development Kitchen and we're searching for ideas on how we can incorporate these into new recipes. Watch this space!
