The rise in strength of meat free products

The Impossible Burger being petitioned to be added to the McDonalds menu, Byron burger adding the Beetnik Burger to their menu's and Tesco now to launch a plant based steak across 400 of it's national stores.

The plant based steak, from Vivera a Dutch manufacturer, is described as being 'barely distinguishable from real steak' in its taste, texture, and smell. The plant based steak is made from a Soy and Wheat and will be available from May 21st.

Vivera will supply across the UK and also other countries in Europe, including Germany, France and Italy. According to the manufacturer; "Vivera has already started production and expects to produce several million pieces in 2018. Vivera has a current production of more than 1 million meat replacements a week, making it one of the three largest producers in Europe."
